Adapted from the novel The Stars at Noon by the writer and poet Denis Johnson, the romantic thriller tells the story a passionate, unexpected love affair between an American journalist and a British businessman in the middle of a civil war: the Nicaraguan Sandanista revolution of 1984.

It comes after Conversations with Friends premiered on May 15 and viewers were left hot under the collar after watching Joe's steamy love scenes in the BBC series.
